Item List

This is the current, confirmed item list. It contains all of the game's upgrades and expansions. It is subject to change at any time. This is list as of...

Beams.

1. Power Beam.
- This is the beam that you start the game with. Utilizes a very high rate of fire and causes a typical, moderately concussive force upon impact. However, it's lack of accuracy and power do not allow you to protect yourself in the stickiest of situations.
Special Abilities: (None).

2. Wave Beam.
- This beam combines highly-concentrated electrical energy with dimensional-phasing capabilities to allow it to pass through most walls. It has far greater power than the Power Beam but the range is short and the rate of fire is nothing to scream about.
Special Abilities: Wall-piercing, effective vs. Mech and Cyborg enemy types.

3. Plasma Beam.
- The Plasma Beam is held in high regard amongst it's Chozo creators. The new generation of "Plasma" beam had advanced from it's proton-based predecessor. The creators decided that they could use super-heated gases to not only create a very effective weapon, but be used for welding and melting obstructions. It is a powerful beam with phenomenal range, versatility, accuracy, and fire rate but does not come without a major setback. This is the overheating issue. Luckily, Samus' Power Suit allows for a built-in intercooling system. You will be unable to switch weapons or fire while overheated.
Special Abilities: Overheating, melt Pardesium obstructions, effective against Ice enemy type.

4. Spazer Beam.
- Spazer Beams were used by many of the front-line units of the Chozo militia. They were made for two things - clearing rooms of massive amounts of weak targets, and replacing the prototype failure, the Spread Cannon. The improvement was more than significant when they implemented the Spazer Beam with three barrels, allowing the "beam" to split into three. Thus, the area it covers is great. As for its other attributes, it is simply average.
Special Ability: Multiple projectiles.

5. Pulse Beam.
- The Pulse Beam was a major project in development by the Galactic Federation. The plan was to replace the subpar G.F. rifles currently being utilized by Federation Troopers. They planned to increase the accuracy by aiding the user in controlling their weapon. What resulted was the prototype Pulse Beam. It fires in three-shot bursts with great speed, accuracy, and range. The purpose was to make it easier to defeat an enemy with a regenerative suit. Most regenerative suits take one to two seconds after taking damage to gather an electronic "damage report" before actually regenerating. The Pulse Beam's extreme speed allows to keep resetting the timer, making regeneration impossible. Most notably, rogue Chozo with stolen technology were the bearers of regenerative gear.
Special Abilities: Burst-fire, high accuracy.

6. Ice Beam.
- A classic weapon used by the Chozo warriors, the Ice Beam is feared by Metroids and Space Pirates alike. The subzero beam utilizes super-concentrated, projectile liquid nitrogen which pierces enemies to the core, freezing them into solid ice for a short time. Many enemies can be shattered after being frozen with a concussive blast from a Chozo Missile.
Special Abilities: Freezing, effective against Metroid enemy types.

7. Nova Beam.
- Nova Beams were invented by the notorious Space Pirates as a prototype weapon for piercing Phazite. Very few of them made it into the hands of Pirate soldiers, as the prototype beams never left their homeworld of Urtragia. The unique ability of the beam by itself is the incredibly fast recharge rate. This means that the user can fire the beam as fast as they can pull the trigger. The Nova Beam utilizes amazing power, range, accuracy, and if the user permits it, speed.
Special Ability: Unlimited speed.

8. Dark Beam.
- The Dark Beam is one of three legendary Luminoth weapons that they used to fight the Ing in their war with Dark Aether. The beam has since been modified to release semi-sentient darklings that detect and destroy any nearby enemies by ramming into them and exploding. It has moderate power, speed, and accuracy, and is great for clearing rooms with lots of weak enemies.
Special Abilities: Releases Darklings on impact that seek enemies, effective against Organic and Light enemy types.

9. Light Beam.
- When the idea of overloading dark enemies with dark energy was rendered useless, the Light Beam was born. It is truly a testament to the Luminoths inherently vast knowledge gained from the Chozo. The beam utterly destroys enemies with dark-based powers and defenses. The impact of the projectile creates a vast, blinding burst of light, damaging anything inside it. It has amazing power, decent range, great accuracy, but somewhat slow speed.
Special Abilities: High power, explosion damages enemies, effective against Dark enemy types.

10. Phazon Beam. - This is the ultimate beam. Phazon, being the most radioactive and mutagenic substance in the universe, is used in a way never conceived before. While requiring Phazon to actually operate, the beam combines many of the incredible features of other beams, making it totally unmatched. It has the speed and range of the Nova Beam, twice the power of the Plasma Beam, the accuracy of the Pulse Beam, and the ability to cut through enemies of all types. Only a powerful suit with Phazon-assimilation powers could fuel the Phazon Beam with the necessary Phazon to operate.
Special Abilities: High range, high power, high speed, high accuracy, requires Phazon.

Suits.

1. Varia Suit.
- This is the suit that you start with at the beginning of the game. The Varia suit allows the user to survive in some demanding conditions, but not all. One of the most beneficial uses for the suit, however, is the ability to breath without any oxygen present. This means Samus can freely travel on moons and throughout space without needing air to survive and breathe. It is also insulated and outfitted with a body temperature regulator. It stands up to most conventional environments, but is not outfitted with the proper modules to maintain proper temperature in sub-zero temperatures or super-heated areas. As an addon the Power Suit, it grants greatly improved protection against enemy attacks. Finally, it is used as the base suit for new suits to add their technology and aesthetics to.
Special Abilities: (None).

2. Gravity Suit.
- The Gravity Suit is a slight upgrade from the Varia Suit, depending on what your preferences are in terms of mobility and damage resistance. The new suit allows the wearer to traverse the most demanding of environments, from sub-zero to super-heated. Also, the suit allows free movement in water and much greater resistance to acid. Finally, the Gravity suit allows for improved mobility and speed at a moderate cost to defense.
Special Abilities: Free liquid movement, temperature resistance, increased speed, acid traversal.

3. Phazon Suit.
- The Phazon Suit is very powerful. Combining the versatility of the Varia Suit, the speed of the Gravity Suit, defense, and increased weapon power. The natural aura of Phazon slightly amplifies the damaging effects of your weaponry. Also allows for traversal over Blue Phazon.
Special Abilities: Blue Phazon traversal, increased defense, increased power.

4. Corruption Suit.
- Not to be confused with the Galactic Federation's P.E.D. (Phazon Enhancement Device) Suit, the Corruption Suit is unmatched in every aspect. Allows the traversal of any environment, including acid, lava, abnormal temperatures, Blue and Orange Phazon, and Ingstorm. Also allows free movement in any liquid, grants supernatural speed, power, and defense, and requires Blue Phazon to operate. The requirement of local Phazon does not even come close to balancing with the abilities it grants the wearer.
Special Abilites: Immunity to environmental hazards, supernatural speed, supernatural power, supernatural defense, allows Hypermode which requires Phazon.

Addons.

1. Morph Ball.
- Possibly the most recognizable item in Samus' arsenal, the Morph Ball was created by the Chozo, allowing users of a Power Suit to transform into a small sphere, less than a meter in diameter. Over time, other races took the technology and improved upon it, making the Morph Ball smaller, faster, and more versatile. Exactly how it functions is a mystery that died with the Chozo race, but it still represents a vital part of universal technological progress.
Special Abilities: Increased speed, reduced size.

2. Morph Ball Bomb.
- Always used in conjunction with the Morph Ball, the Ball Bomb implementation allows Samus to lay small, concussive objects that detonate after a few seconds. They are able to destroy orange Brinstone blocks and when used in conjunction with the Morph Ball, are used to kill massive targets from the inside and activate switches.
Special Abilities: Destroy Brinstone, defeat large enemies via weak points.

3. Power Bomb.
- The Power Bomb is the "big brother" of the Ball Bomb, and even that is an understatement. The explosion it creates is absolutely massive, deals a ton of damage to enemies that are vulnerable to neutron explosions, and can destroy obstructions composed of Denzium. Like the Super Missile, it is heavily hindered by its requirement of rare ammunition.
Special Abilities: Destroy Bendezium, large explosion, high power.

4. Screw Bomb.
- The Screw Bomb is the grandaddy of all bombs. Having a slightly smaller range than its predecessor, the Power Bomb, it packs a significantly larger punch. The Screw Bomb has a brief timer before exploding and annihilating anything close by. Besides that, it bounces electric nodes all over the area, zapping anything in their path. Considered one of the most devastating weapons in Samus' arsenal, it does not come without a grave limitation; it costs 2 Power Bombs to use.
Special Abilities: Destroy Quartzinium, large explosion, high power.

5. Speed Booster.
- The Speed Booster is just that - a speed booster. After running for a short period of time in a straight line, the user generates an inhuman burst of speed, allowing them to annihilate almost anything in their path, and bash straight through Bendezium obstructions.
Special Abilities: Destroy Zebesian Colossus Alloy (ZCA), supernatural speed.

6. Jet Boost.
- The Jet Boost is a unique item. It allows Samus to fire blasts of air out of the vents in the back of her suit in such a way that she defies the laws of physics, granting her incredible agility for a fraction of a second. This allows her to quickly dodge incoming attacks, especially from fast enemies.
Special Abilities: Superior agility, dodging.

7. Lightsear.
- The Lightsear is a brand new defensive utility, created in a joint project with the Chozo and Luminoth years ago, but hidden away on a remote, life-bearing planet. The Lightsear allows the user to activate it for a split second, reflecting most projectiles back at enemies with increased speed and power.
Special Ability: Projectile reflection.

Secondary Weapons.

1. Missile.
- A classic weapon in Samus' arsenal, the missile exhibits superior power and accuracy, and nearly unlimited range. However, it is heavily limited by its requirement of ammunition.
Special Ability: Destroy Talloric Alloy.

2. Super Missile.
- The Super Missile is superior to the regular Missiles in every way. The projectile moves faster and is three times as volatile, but ammunition for this weapon is extremely scarce. While very powerful, the Super Missile should be used very sparingly.
Special Abilities: Destroy Cordite, destroy Talloric Alloy, shake area.

3. Homing Missile.
- Samus' versatile Combat Visor allows her to control these missiles by creating a digital picture of the surrounding area and laying it out on her interface. The slow speed allowing for great control and near-limitless range are balanced by the fact that it requires three regular Missiles to fire. Use sparingly.
Special Abilities: Destroy Bendezium, destroy Talloric Alloy, guided targeting.

4. Diffusion Missile.
- The Diffusion Missile is widely feared amongst Samus' enemies. The impact of this missile creates a powerful explosion and also releases a massive burst of ice. Anything caught in the blast or by the ice particles is snap-frozen. Note that this uses two already-hard-to-find Super Missiles. This should be used only against the most powerful of enemies.
Special Abilities: Destroy Maldite, destroy Cordite, destroy Talloric Alloy, freeze enemies in a large area, high power, shake area.

5. Diffuser.
- Another unique addon to Samus' arm cannon, the Diffuser supercharges Samus' Charge Beam. When charged projectiles make impact, the explosion is much greater, damaging all nearby enemies for small amounts of damage.
Special Abilities: Charged beam diffusal.

Visors.

1. Combat Visor.
- This is Samus' basic visor. Outfitted with a fully detailed H.U.D. (Heads-up display), hazard meters, a targeting system, and energy displays, this is half of what allows Samus to perform her incredible feats.

2. Scan Visor.
- Crucial to most of Samus' missions, the Scan Visor allows her to easily gather information on local surroundings, record lore to her Logbook, and help to understand what to do next.
Special Ability: Allows Samus to interface with environment and HUD.

3. X-ray Visor.
- The X-ray Visor is rather self-explanatory and extremely useful. It allows Samus to spot weakpoints on tough enemies and reveals secrets when she is close.
Special Ability: Allows Samus to detect weakpoints and secrets when enabled.

Expansions.

1. Energy Tank.
- Adds 100 to Samus' Energy capacity.

2. Accel Tank.
- Increases how quickly Samus can charge her beams, inreases how quickly Morph Ball Bombs detonate, increases the cooling rate of the Plasma Beam, and speeds up other Power Suit processes by a small amount.

3. Missile Expansion.
- Increases Missile capacity by 5.

4. Super Missile Expansion.
- Increases Super Missile capacity by 2.

5. Power Bomb Expansion.
- Increases Power Bomb capacity by 1.

Removed Items.
Note: As the above subtitle states, the following items have been removed and are no longer in the game.

1. Grapple Beam.
- The Grapple beam is another classic weapon in Samus' arsenal. With it, she can link up to potential grapple points and pull herself across otherwise-inaccessible gaps. While the clutching ability of the beam does not allow the user to deal any damage, it can be used to tear armor off of heavy enemies.
Special Abilities: Traverse gaps, pull in items, tear armor off targets.

2. Dark Suit.
- This suit is the first dramatic departure from the typical look of Samus' suits. The Dark Suit was created by the Luminoth, friends of the legendary Chozo to protect their warriors from the hazardous effects of Dark Aether's atmosphere. While very prototypical, the Dark Suit provides insane protection at a great reduction in speed, likening it to a snail's pace. The protection you get is unmatched even by the most advanced technology. Also grants a small increase to weapon power.
Special Abilities: Impenetrable defense, reduced speed.

3. Light Suit.
- The Light Suit is the ultimate blending of Luminoth and Chozo technology, yielding the effects of darkness totally harmless. Allows for the utmost superior speed, the same defense as the Dark Suit, vastly improved firepower, and allows the wearer to move through corrosive Ingstorm.
Special Abilities: High power, high speed, high defense, Ingstorm traversal.
